???? Help Ngutunui School Upgrade Our Sports Gear! ????♀️⚽
Ngutunui School needs your help!
As a small rural school, our budget doesn’t always allow us to regularly update our sports equipment. Having quality, modern gear helps motivate and inspire our tamariki to get involved, stay active, and enjoy participating in sports and physical activity.
AA Insurance is offering a Sports Grant, and we would love your support by nominating Ngutunui School.
If we are successful, the grant would help us refresh and modernise our sports equipment, creating more opportunities for our students to develop skills, build confidence, and enjoy being active.
???? How you can help:
Please take a moment to nominate Ngutunui School through the AA Insurance Big Little Sponsorship page:
Every nomination helps increase our chances.
Thank you for supporting our school and helping provide better sporting opportunities for our tamariki! ????

Our Board have the meat sorted for the BBQ, bring along a family favourite dish or a salad to share.
BYO drinks for your family and your own cups, plates and cutlery and picnic blanket :)

Kia ora e te whānau and community members,
Great news. Our school pool is officially open again!
The second round of water testing has come back clear of bacteria, and the pool is safe for swimming. Students are welcome to bring their swimming togs and a towel to school tomorrow.
In line with Ministry of Education guidance and national public pool health standards, the following requirements apply to all users of the Ngutunui School pool — both students and community swimmers:
Student Swimming Requirements
Children cannot swim if they have any open cuts, wounds, or bandaged injuries.
Children who are feeling unwell, including having runny noses, cold or flu symptoms, will not be able to swim.
Community & After-Hours Pool Use
All users must ensure they are well before swimming.
Anyone coming directly from farm work or working around animals must shower thoroughly before entering the pool.
As a rural community, we understand that many of us move straight from farm environments to school facilities. However, bacteria commonly associated with livestock and animal environments can easily be transferred into pool water if swimmers do not shower beforehand.
Treating and re-balancing the pool water after contamination is a significant cost to the school and requires additional testing and pool closure time. We are asking respectfully for everyone’s cooperation so that we do not need to go through this process again.
These expectations are in place to protect the health of all users and to ensure our pool remains a safe and enjoyable facility for both school and community use.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
School Pool and facilities caretaker,
Sam Gibbens
